Japan: Earthquake and Tsunami hit North-East – The northeast coast of Japan was hit by a massive earthquake that reached a magnitude of 8.9 on the scale and triggered a devastating tsunami.

10 meter high waves took ships, cars and debris and washed inland and caused a several miles long dramatic damage, which as a result left the region without any infrastructure.

And even worse appears the fact that a nuclear power plant was hit in the region, which had caught fire in a turbine building – the atomic state of emergency was declared for Japan.

Over 1000 victims of the desastrous earthquake and Tsunami in Japan are reported so far, experts estimate this figure to rise in the following days.
