Paris Eiffel Tower

Paris Eiffel TowerBomb scare Paris: Eiffel Tower and Metro Station evacuated! – Last night, the French police had to evacuate many people from the Parisian landmark, the Eiffel Tower, and from a subway station because of a bomb threat.

This was announced by the company, which operates the Eiffel Tower and which had received an anonymous call at 8:30 pm Paris time who informed about the placement of a bomb.

A policeman disclosed: „Special units were on site and have inspected the entire structure and nothing was found. About 2,000 people were evacuated from the perimeter“.

Another anonymous phone call included a bomb threat on the Paris metro station Saint-Michel, which was evacuated as well immediately.

The station was already the target of a bombing in July 1995, organized by the Algerian Islamic Group (GIA), that killed eight and wounded 80 people.
