Tour de France 2010: The current overall standings

PAU, FRANCE - JULY 20: American Lance Armstrong with team RadioShack rides in a breakaway during stage 16 of the Tour de France on July 20, 2010 in Pau, France. Armstrong started the ride between Bagneres-de-Luchon and Pau in 31st place. French rider Pierrick Fedrigo won the stage while Alberto Contador retained the yellow jersey. The iconic bicycle race will include a total of 20 stages and will cover 3,642km before concluding in Paris on July 25. Declared as the so-called “Group Armstrong”, the former tour winner seemed highly motivated to disprove the constant bad press about its performance as well as the continuing doping allegations.

And indeed, the eight outliers could leave the peloton almost seven minutes behind, which enabled Armstrong to reduce the gap to Contador to +33:46 min.

Today, the 17th Stage of the Tour de France in 2010 runs from Pau to Col du Tourmalet and will challenge the riders on a length of 174 km.
